South Reno Mindfulness – Mindfulness in Daily Life

Every 3rd Saturday - Virtual

This FREE, 1-hour session typically begins with a short Transitioning and Arriving practice and includes a 15 to 20-minute guided meditation. The focus of this session is the practical application of mindfulness in daily life. Yvonne offers a short presentation on a specific mindfulness topic and invites participants to contribute by asking questions and sharing their own insights. The session concludes with a poem specifically selected to align with the session topic.

Mindful Transitions
June 10: 10:00am - 12:00

This program addresses the role of mindfulness in the three stages of life

changes - separation, transition, integration. Specifically, this course explores life changes and transitions associated with becoming a parent, career changes, and retirement.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program
Feb 1 to March 22
6:00 to 8:00 pm

Eight-week MBSR curriculum which is designed to help counter habitual thought processes that can create anxiety and resistance to what is happening in the present moment.

Mindfulness and Mindful Self Compassion Retreat

June 18 - 9:30am - 3:30pm

This one-day retreat is designed for all who desire to learn about mindfulness and mindful self-compassion. No prior experience is required. This retreat offers an opportunity to take time out of our busy lives to experience calm, ease and joy or to rekindle a mindfulness practice. The facilitators will
guide participants through many practices such as the body scan, walking meditation mindful movement, loving-kindness meditation, compassionate meditations and visualization practices, and
sensory awareness.

In Harmony with Nature
2-day Retreat for South Reno Mindfulness Participants Only
August 19-21, 2023

This – long awaited, very small – retreat is available to members of the South Reno Mindfulness community. It will be held in Bandon, Oregon, at a beautiful coastal location with private access to the
beach. This retreat is designed to allow participants to pause and step away from the demands of their busy, daily lives by re-connecting with nature.

Mindfulness for Judges Retreat

Oct 9 - 12

Incline Village, NV

This four-day program is an opportunity to pause from the many complexities of being a judge and find some space to breathe and reflect. It is a practice of learning to pay attention to our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations and acknowledging whatever is present and using
that information to respond to the unfolding of our work and lives.

2023 Mindfulness Practice Days

These half-day retreats are offered without charge to members of the South Reno Mindfulness (SRM) community. Much of the retreat will be in silence and will be focused on mindfulness practices, such as the body scan, mindful movement, and sitting meditation.

Mindful Self-Compassion
Free Introductory Session
Oct 18 at 6:00pm

In this 6-week in person course, you will learn a three-step process to meet overwhelm and face challenges with confidence. The purpose of the program is to support participants in building a kinder relationship with yourself. This program is led by Kara Taormina and co-facilitated by Yvonne Stedham.
